Daily Living Support
Services
Practical, person-centred daily living support services — assistance with the everyday tasks that keep a good life running, delivered by MMT Care support workers across NSW, QLD, and VIC.
Understanding the support
What is Daily
Living Support?
Daily Living Support (also called Assistance with Daily Life under the NDIS) is funded support that helps participants with the everyday tasks of living — personal care, domestic assistance, meal preparation, and more — so they can participate in life on their own terms.
Not everyone needs the same kind of help, or the same amount of it. Some participants need hands-on assistance with personal care every morning. Others need occasional help with complex tasks — managing medications, cooking nutritious meals, or navigating community transport. Daily Living Support covers all of this.
What matters to MMT Care is not simply completing tasks — it's building a support relationship where participants feel in control, respected, and genuinely helped. Support workers are matched thoughtfully, so the person who shows up to help is someone you can actually build a routine with.
Common areas of supportPersonal care
Morning and evening routines — showering, dressing, grooming — done with respect for each person's preferences and privacy.
Household tasks
Cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and other domestic responsibilities — either shared with the participant or completed on their behalf.
Meal preparation
Planning and preparing meals that meet the participant's dietary needs, cultural preferences, and support their health goals.
Skill development
Building capability in areas where the participant wants to grow more independent — not just doing tasks for them indefinitely.
"The support worker who helps my brother has become part of his routine in the best way. He knows what to expect, and that consistency makes a real difference for him."

What we help with
Daily Living Support is a broad NDIS category. Here's what MMT Care's support workers typically assist with — though every participant's support plan is different.
Personal Care
Showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance — done with dignity and respect for individual preferences.
Meal Preparation
Planning meals, preparing food, and supporting participants to cook for themselves as their skills and confidence grow.
Community Access
Getting to appointments, social activities, shopping, and community events — with or without a support worker depending on the participant's plan.
Domestic Assistance
Cleaning, laundry, vacuuming, and keeping the home environment safe, hygienic, and comfortable.
Medication Management
Prompting, reminding, and (where prescribed) assisting with medication administration — with appropriate clinical oversight.
Skill Development
Building practical independence — learning to cook, manage money, use public transport, and navigate everyday challenges with growing confidence.
Daily living within SIL
Daily living support in a
SIL home
For participants living in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home, daily living support is built into the home's staffing model. Support workers are on-site — either actively supporting or on sleepover — to help with personal care, cooking, community access, and the everyday tasks that make a home run.
If you are looking at SIL accommodation and wondering how the support works day-to-day, or if you're interested in in-home SIL as a more intimate alternative, talk to our team — we'll walk you through exactly what support looks like in each model.

Questions about Daily Living Support
Is Daily Living Support the same as SIL?
No — they are related but distinct. SIL (Supported Independent Living) is the living arrangement where support is delivered in a shared or individual home. Daily Living Support is the specific type of assistance provided. You can receive Daily Living Support while living in your own home, a family home, or a SIL home managed by MMT Care.
How do I know if I have Daily Living Support in my NDIS plan?
Look for "Assistance with Daily Life" under your Core Supports budget. This is the funding category that covers most daily living support. Your support coordinator can help you understand what's funded and how to use it most effectively.
Can I choose my own support worker?
MMT Care works to match participants with support workers who are a genuine fit — considering personality, communication style, shared interests, and specific support needs. We can't always guarantee a specific person, but we take matching seriously and welcome feedback when something isn't working.
